鈥淩owing at the University鈥� project

Since 2021, the University of Padua has been participating in the "Rowing at University" project (Remare all'Universit脿)聽, presented by the rowing club Canottieri Padova A.S.D. to the Italian Rowing Federation (F.I.C.). The project, launched for the first time in history by the F.I.C. under the impetus of two Olympic champion and former university student board members, is aimed at all university students who wish to approach rowing for the first time.

The project lasts one year, includes introductory rowing courses, and a series of events for peer-level comparison. It is developed in three phases:
鈥� First phase - basic introductory course to the sport of rowing with theoretical training and practical sessions on the rowing machine and/or in the rowing tank (qualification as "Basic University Beginner");
鈥� Second phase - advanced course for perfecting "dry rowing technique" and "on-water" training with boats designed for rowing practice (qualification as "Advanced University Beginner");
鈥� Third phase - preparation for competitions with the participation of all University of Padua students who have taken part in the previous two phases, in university rowing events organised by the F.I.C.

News 2025

This year, the University of Padua is once again collaborating with the rowing club Canottieri Padova A.S.D. for the "Rowing at University" project.

Participation requirements:

• Be a student of the University of Padua until the end of the project
• Be under 29 years old as of 31 December 2025
• Not have any mobility projects to or from other universities planned for the year 2025
• Be able to swim

International Historical Rowing Challenge of Universities

Students of the University of Padua can participate in International Universities Boat Challenges with other Italian and international universities. The event takes place in September along the lagoons of Venice during a day of various other rowing competitions called the Venice Historical Regatta.The prestigious Historical Regatta Venice includes a water parade of colourful traditional boats and a series of competitive races held on typical regatta vessels known as galleons.

Lion Cup University Dragon Boat Championship

The city of Venice every May welcomes students of the University of Padua to participate against other Italian and international universities in the Lion Cup University Dragon Boat Championship.
