Return to the Botanical Garden of the University of Padua from May 1 to May 4,?Risvegli. La festa dei fiori?¡ª the festival dedicated to science and nature, celebrating one of nature¡¯s most astonishing phenomena: the flower.
Now in its tenth edition, Risvegli offers a rich schedule of talks and conferences, performances and exhibitions, guided tours, workshops, and continuous activities for all ages?and initiatives. The Garden transforms into a wonderland where scientific knowledge and entertainment intertwine. Flowers and plants ¡ª a source of endless knowledge, inspiration for art and literature, and a vital resource for the environment ¡ª take center stage in a multisensory journey through scent, color, and learning. It¡¯s an invitation to awareness and engagement: because every action and daily choice can become the seed of meaningful change.
The festival opens on May 1 with a celebratory day dedicated to nature, music, and connection. The soundtrack to this sensory experience is the Buskers Flower Edition, an afternoon event in collaboration with the Ferrara Buskers Festival.
The mornings and afternoons also feature a full lineup of focused on scientific dissemination and the intersections of nature, science, and culture.
This year, Risvegli expands its, with an even richer selection of hands-on, artistic, and sensory experiences that invite participants to see nature with fresh eyes.
A new addition to this tenth edition is a series of sunset events, offering unique experiences that highlight the magic of the Garden in the golden hours of evening ¡ª with music, stories, and atmosphere.
Visitors exploring the Garden freely, without reservations or time limits, can enjoy throughout the day ¡ª immersive, creative offerings for families, curious minds, and nature lovers of all ages.
The festival also features a wide array of , with activities tailored to different age groups and times of day.
As always, Risvegli offers a wide range of to help visitors discover the Botanical Garden¡¯s historical, scientific, and natural heritage. Tours require advance booking and are included in the ticket price, except for the rose garden tour on Via Bronzetti, which is free but still requires a reservation.
To mark its tenth edition, Risvegli presents an art exhibition that blends creativity and memory, offering new perspectives on the relationship between nature, identity, and transformation.
"W(Finestre sull¡¯altrove. 60 vedute per 60 rifugiati)" (on view from May 1 to August 3) is a project conceived by Bill Shipsey, founder of Art for Human Rights, and Matteo Pericoli, architect and illustrator, created for Amnesty International Italy. It features sixty views drawn by Pericoli, inspired by the stories of sixty refugees: a visual and poetic dialogue between displacement and rebirth, where trees, memories, and hopes open onto a shared landscape ¡ª in deep harmony with the Botanical Garden¡¯s essence.
Most activities require a reservation and are included in the event ticket, which grants access to the Botanical Garden during extended hours: from 9 AM to 7 PM. Talks and conferences are free to attend; however, they do not include admission to the Garden itself.
