Why Do We Study Plants?
The Summer School in "WHY DO WE STUDY PLANTS?" aims to highlight the crucial role of plants in the physical, chemical, biological, and socio-cultural processes that sustain life on Earth, with a particular focus on human life.
This intensive and interactive lecturing programme, will feature the above mentioned topics, organised into thematic categories, from fundamental properties (plant structures and functions) to interactions with the environment and humanity (plant–environment interactions; plants, climate change and food production; sustainability).
To complement the lecture programme, field trips have been organized to translate knowledge into practice. These include a guided tour of the University Botanical Garden in Padua and a visit to the Lucio Susmel Alpine Environment Study Centre in San Vito di Cadore, featuring forest experimental site explorations.
