Preparing for university entrance exams

1, To access bachelor's and single-cycle master's degree programs, it is necessary to take an admission or assessment test:

  • For programs with limited enrollment (local and national), a limited number of spots are available, so only those who pass the test and rank high enough in the list can enroll. Failing to achieve a minimum score can result in additional educational obligations (it is necessary to carefully read the academic regulations, in italian, of the program);
  • For programs with open enrollment, a negative test result does not prevent enrollment. Failing to achieve a minimum score can result in additional educational obligations to be fulfilled within the first year of the course (it is necessary to carefully read the academic regulations, in italian, of the program).

2. For information regarding the topics and dates of the exam, it is necessary to consult the page related to the Admission Notices of the courses of interest. The admission notice is the document that explains how to enroll in the University and provides useful information about the test.

3 On the  (in italian) there is a dedicated section where numerous initiatives can be consulted, including:

  •  (in italian): useful materials to prepare for the exams are available.
  • Courses to understand entrance test questions (in italian): to familiarize oneself with the admission tests. These courses, which are free but require mandatory reservation, help develop strategies aimed at creating a balanced approach to the test, with attention to self-assessment. Registration on the platform is easy and free; for any clarifications, write to orienta@unipd.it.

Regarding the healthcare area tests, the Association of Students and Professors of Medicine Uniti Per, in collaboration with the Tutors of the School of Medicine and Surgery, offers free simulations and courses every year to prepare for the entrance tests.

4. MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) are free and open to everyone, and they can be useful for preparing to face the first year of university. In the section dedicated to MOOC, there is an overview of the active courses.

5. The  (in italian) is a tool for interaction between universities and schools on the subject of entrance orientation. Some self-assessment tools (such as the Placement Tests - PPS) are freely accessible to interested individuals.
