Understanding the many shapes of inflammation: from bench to bedside
Inflammation is a multifaceted biological process that plays a critical role in the body defense against infection and injury. However, when dysregulated, inflammation can drive the development of numerous chronic diseases, such as autoimmune disorders, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and neurodegenerative conditions. The summer school focuses on exploring the many “shapes” or forms that inflammation can take, from acute, beneficial responses to chronic, pathogenic processes. The program covers a wide array of topics, beginning with the fundamental biological mechanisms of inflammation.
