Remote work
Remote working
Remote working is a mode of performing work with time and location constraints, which involves carrying out the activity in an appropriate place agreed upon with the administration of the University of Padua, different from the office to which the employee is assigned.
There are two types of remote working:
- Type A: for technical or organisational needs, with a maximum of 2 days per week. The permitted activities are listed in Annex 2 of the remote work regulation;
- Type B: for certified personal conditions, such as disability, vulnerability, or family care, with a maximum of 3 days per week (which can be increased in cases of greater severity).
Remote working requires adherence to working hours, accrual of meal vouchers, and all the rights and duties of on-site work.
It requires an individual written agreement and compliance with safety, confidentiality, and the use of IT tools provided by the University.
Agile working
Agile working is a flexible mode of performing work, established through an agreement between the parties, which does not involve specific time or location constraints. The work is carried out partly at the University premises and partly outside, without a fixed workstation, using technological tools.
For full-time or horizontal part-time staff, the maximum number of agile working days is 2 per week or 8 per month. For first and second-level managers, it is 1 day per week or 4 per month.
Agile working requires a 4-hour daily availability slot and an 11-hour consecutive rest period. Overtime, business trips, discomfort allowances, or additional pay are not permitted. Meal vouchers do not accrue on agile working days.
Access to agile working is through an individual agreement signed by the employee and the general director, with prior approval from the manager.
Exceptions are provided for situations of certified particular necessity.
The rules on managerial and disciplinary power, training, safety, and confidentiality apply as for on-site work. Non-compliance with the rules may result in the termination of the agreement.
