Hillary Taylor specializes in the social and economic history of Britain and the British Atlantic, c. 1500-1800. She received her PhD from Yale in 2016 and was supervised by Prof. Keith Wrightson. Since then, she has held a Research Fellowship at Jesus College, Cambridge, and been University Lecturer in Early Modern British Social and Economic History in the History Faculty at Cambridge. In spring 2023, she will be a Heinz Heinen Kolleg Fellow at the Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies (Universit盲t Bonn). Taylor鈥檚 past research has been published in journals such as Economic History Review and Social History. Her MSCA project, supervised by Prof. Andrea Caracausi, examines violence and labour discipline (and how the legal system mediated these aspects of labour relations) in early modern Britain.
